Summary

This is Volume 15 of the 16-volume Catholic Encyclopedia whose editor-in-chief was Charles G. Herbermann. While teaching at City College in New York, Herbermann was selected to lead the editorial staff in compiling the material for the Catholic Encyclopedia. The first fifteen volumes were published between 1907 and 1912 with a sixteenth supplemental volume added in 1922. Each volume contains terms, names of people, places, and things associated with Catholicism in some way. Volume 15 lists items that fall alphabetically between Tournely-Zwirner. Besides the alphabetical listing, there are indexes of terms, scripture references, and subjects.
