Biography

John Seldon (J.S.) Whale was born in Cornwall, England, in 1897. After earning his divinity and doctorate degrees, Whale became an influential and respected voice in the Anglican Church of England and elsewhere. Christian Doctrine (1941) was written by Whale and used for more than half a century as a training text for ministers. In his own right, Whale was an excellent preacher and professor. Whale lived to be 100. He died in 1997 near the place of his birth in England.
