Biography

Alfred Plummer was born in England in 1841. Plummer's father was an Anglican minister. Plummer earned degrees from Lancing College and Exeter College Oxford. Most of his adult life would be spent serving various colleges. He held various positions such as Dean, Fellow, Master of College, and Sub-Warden of a university. He wrote several commentaries on the Pauline Epistles, some of the Gospels, and the history of the church. English Church History, The Church of England in the 18th Century, The Continental Reformation, and The Church of the Early Fathers are just some of his works. Plummer died on April 17, 1926 in England.
