Biography

Charles Ebert Orr was born in Ohio in 1861. Orr’s passion was holiness. As a pastor and teacher, Orr spread the Gospel message across America and to other countries. Orr wrote several books and lyrics. Food for the Lambs, How to Live a Holy Life, The Hidden Life, and The Gospel Day are just some of the books written by Orr. Lyrics penned by Orr include Closer to My Loving Savior, Sweet Humility, Savior Lead Me, and Seedtime and Harvest. He worked on the publication of the Gospel Trumpet (Church of God) as well as shepherding a Baptist Church. Orr’s first wife was Minnie and his second wife was Dora. Orr died in 1933 in Oklahoma.
