Memorizing God's Word

What passage(s) in the Bible you had memorized that actually helped you later?

As I progressed in my Christian life, I realized more the need to memorize passages in the Scripture.

First, I considered Matthew 4:4 that declares, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God" (ESV). Also Joshua 1:8, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

Then, I encountered these words of David: "I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you" (Psalm 119:11).

And in part of Colossians 3:16, we read:

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..."

In several occasions also, His words that I remembered strengthened me spiritually. For instance, when doubt would try to creep in my mind that I might not finish the Christian race, some Bible verses would flash in mind, like:

"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).

Also, 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, "Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it."

And Psalm 73:23-24, "Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory."

Any verse you also planted in your heart and later came to your rescue?
