Biography

Florists and foreign missionaries have Thèrése of Lisieux as their patron saint. Some refer to her as “the little flower.” She lived just 24 years from 1873 to 1897. At age 15 she became a nun at the Lisieux Convent. Her devotion to God and her desire to do his will motivated her to seek out small ways to show her love for others in Christ’s name. She didn’t believe she could do “great things” so she intentionally focused on “little ways” to practice holiness and love. Her life has and continues to inspire others. Her name has been attached to films, musicals, basilicas, cathedrals, and a feast day.
