Expositor's Bible: The Acts of the Apostles, Volume I

Expositor’s Bible: The Acts of the Apostles (1891) is part of the original fifty volumes known as The Expositor’s Bible edited by W. Robertson Nicoll. G. T. Stokes wrote this two-volume commentary on Acts. This first volume explores the depths of the first nine chapters of Acts in the span of sections. Each of the twenty sections covers several topics and people. Stokes starts with a reflection on the title and general content of Acts before taking passages to be explained. Throughout the commentary, other scholars of theology are quoted or used as references such as John Calvin, St. Augustine, and Justin Martyr. An index at the end of this book contains terms, people, and topics found in Stoke’s commentary.
