Biography

Bishop Nestorius lived from around 375 to 451 (exact dates are unknown). Born in Turkey, Nestorius would become a monk and an ordained priest. Through Theodosius II, Nestorius was made Bishop of Constantinople but not without controversy. He held to certain beliefs regarding Mary, free will, baptism, and human nature. Nestorius was a proponent of Pelagianism. His teachings got him exiled. During his exile, he produced the Book of Heraclides of Damascus.
