1ST Cause of the Destruction of Rome From Chapter 71 of the Decline & Fall

Quippe in regiones quatuordecim Roma dividitur, quarum quatuor integrae manebant, tres solo tenus dejectae: septem reliquis pauca testorum vestigia supererant, lacera et semiusta.

He then deplores the
