Christ removes all barriers to catholicity of His church through faith

Thinking about Christ and how He breaks down all barriers and spoils all principalities and powers which prevent true universality, true catholicity, of His body, the church...

Has anyone ever considered that a living faith is not achieved by adding our works to our faith but rather, that faith is a gift from God which being quickened by the Holy Spirit produces obedience (good works)? (The keyword here is "quickened". It would serve you well to consult your Strong's Concordance.)

Walking away from your mortgage

I include this snipe from a blog to start this thread. The question is....Is it morally right to walk away from your mortgage?

"Spiritual feelings"

JStaller or dohnz were examining the actual perception of the spirit by our senses and I was curious as to how that was determined? Without it, what can we
know is the presence of the spirit and no sensation whatsoever? As a Baptist our services usually consist of a time that the spirit is moving through the church at a high intensity during the sermon.I was mind- boggled as to what would our experience be without these sensations? A stirring of the soul can be felt(I have felt) in the church as an assurance to a connection. What else is there?

I pray may the spirit enlighten us all?

Question...hinds feet

Hello there, I have been pondering the scripture that refers to hinds' feet on high places and was wondering what other people's take on it is. Thanks! SDG

HOLY SPIRIT

Forgive me for asking this question?

Has any of you been baptized with the Holy Spirit?

If so! How do you know?

Old Earth vs. New Earth, Creationism and the Big Bang

Tonight, I sat and watched (at Bible Study) an anti-Evolution video. It was better than I expected, but sadly predictable in its fear-mongering.

The minister sitting next to me, a woman from Nigeria, kept shaking her head in disbelief every time someone said "5 million years ago..." etc etc. She firmly believes the earth is, give or take, 6000 years old. I know her motives are sincere, but it's difficult to reconcile this conviction with massive amounts of evidence to the contrary.

Who was Jesus? Who is he Today?

Who was Jesus?
What was he like?
What did he teach?
What influence did his followers have on the way we understand him today?
How does one go about "following Jesus?"

Those are the types of questions this thread is for. Keep it centered on Jesus, and it's "On Topic."

Exclusive Christians not following Jesus

My thought is why do so many people treat Christianity like it is the only way to know god? How many people must not know god if Christians fail so miserably at showing god to them? Is not god bigger than one system of thought about god? Why are Christians so superior to the rest of everyone else? It would be good to see Christians realize their brotherhood with other faiths found in the Truth.
