Welcome to the Extended Discussion Thread for the Book of Revelation Group Study. Feel free to discuss whatever your heart so desires.
The Coffee Room
The Book of Life
The Bible speaks about "The Book of Life".
Is your name in it?
Can you know for sure if your name is in it?
Can you tell when it was written therein?
If your name gets blotted out, can it be written in again?
How do we KNOW Truth from Error
The following statement was made on another thread by JStaller (I think).
"It is not only the Holy Spirit who reveals true doctrine."
If it is not the Holy Spirit who reveals truth to us, how do we KNOW what truth is?
Simply saying something is not true doctrine because it does not line up with the Bible, proves nothing, if we don't KNOW the Bible is true.
So then, how do we KNOW (not think) that the Bible is true and that the teachings of other religions are in error?
If not, by revealed knowledge?

Keeping or losing a free gift
In the thread on Scripture Needed (which began by addressing Omniscience VS free will) JMANIA asked a few questions I thought should be answered:
JMANIA said -
If you can lose your salvation,
then what must you do to keep it?
Was Jesus God?
Been kicking this one around lately. At great risk to my sanity, I thought I'd pose the question to a wider audience. One thing I love about these forums is the different perspectives each poster brings to the table.
Was Jesus God?
How "much" God was Jesus?
Was Jesus fallible in any way? Limited?
I'd also like to know what you guys (and gals) think about Jesus being "in" us, or us being in Jesus--does that make us Divine? How much?

Is it biblical to tithe?
I know that the you cannot necessarily apply the OT tithe to Christians. I also know that giving and the support of the clergy was and is an important part of the NT. But is there any basis for making this into a 'tithe' which Christians are required to give?

Communion/Eucharist
* "Transubstantiation" — the substance (fundamental reality) of the bread and wine is transformed in a way beyond human comprehension into that of the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ, but the accidents (physical traits, including chemical properties) of the bread and wine remain; this view is that taught by the Roman Catholic Church and by the Eastern Orthodox Synod of Jerusalem, and is held by many Anglicans, especially in Anglo-Catholic circles.
Please explain the difference in belief between Lutherans and Catholics
I'm interested in learning more about the different Denominations out there(I don't know if denomination is the right word). I understand that Lutherans and Catholics have much in common. I would like to hear about what separates them.
Also, is Methodists similar?
**In return I'll explain the difference between a United Pentecostal and the other Pentecostal branches; that is if anyone is interested.
Best Regards,
Clay

Tobie's Cooking and Home Making tips
I can't believe that I am starting a cooking thread for Tobie on a Christian Book site.
Tobie has asked me to add a note here. If any of the other members would like to add their recipes/home making tips then please feel free to join in. This isn't a one person conversation.
What is a Christian?
What makes a person a Christian? Who decides who is a Christian and who is not?
I know where the term was first used, but I am curious as to what might have earned Christians that particular moniker. I am aware of no "inside the Bible" answer, no formal definition, and so I realize that everyone that comes to the table for this discussion will have to go outside of our common source and into their personal sources (whatever they may be).
