Summary Formats Reviews About the author Annotations

This volume contains Spurgeon’s commentary on various biblical commentaries, designed to provide a catalogue of resources for students and pastors. Spurgeon also includes two lectures he gave to his students at the Pastor’s College (now Spurgeon’s College) which discuss the nature and purpose of commentaries in general. Because such surveys of biblical commentaries are so rare, Spurgeon’s work remains useful and relevant, especially for those who trust him as a spiritual guide and interpreter of Scripture.
