Interpreting Scripture with Scripture

We're all saying it quite a lot, but I am curious to know if the scriptures themselves recommend interpreting scripture with more scripture? I'm not aware of any passages that do so, but I have much to learn. Can anyone point me to the Biblical basis for interpreting the Bible with the Bible?
"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." John 5.39-40
