The Church part and the Civil part of our religious Life . . . is often left out by . . . or is often de-emphasized . . . especially by the Bible-only Christians . . . and also by so many of us so-called Sacramental Christians in general . . . we going straight to the personal relationship parts of things Christian . . . leaving out so much of everything which is collectively human in the process . . . society things . . . albeit . . . leaving these things out unintentionally for the most part.

In reading JRobert's post . . . this pair of Scriptural passages came to my mind . . . as regards Church and Society . . . issues . . . of salvation . . . and regarding Purgatory issues . . .

1) All works to the good for those that 'Love' the LORD.

2) And . . . this is the 'Love' of the LORD, that we 'keep' HIS Commands.

Simply put . . . if we are to 'Love' the LORD . . . we need to . . .

. . . 'acknowledge/Believe-in' and to 'obey' the authorities GOD has placed over us in this Life in all things but sin . . . we need to 'DO GOD's Will on earth as it is in Heaven' . . .

. . . this 'DOing' can be performed at the simplest levels of Life or society or this can be performed at the most profound and ethereal levels of Life or society.

The Church/Family/Individuals . . . and society . . . is/are there at all of these levels . . . and the Life Lived in CHRIST . . . in and through Union with the Church is the primary means and the primary test of Living our Life of obedience on both the visible and the invisible levels of Life in society.

Without the Church, this all becomes a private and personal affair, which is not what GOD has in mind for the human race.

What you said about 'growing' through the 'Sacramental' Life of the Church . . . is very True . . . we are . . . 'growing in age and in Wisdom and in Grace before GOD and Man' . . . especially by means of the Church and the Sacramental Life of the Church.

Purgatory is just the polishing and bringing to perfection of a Life Lived in Faith, if our Life in union with CHRIST through the Church didn't already accomplish this . . . perfecting in CHRIST . . . in the soul, while the soul was still in this Life.

Nothing imperfect enters Heaven.

Nothing which is not perfectly Holy enters Heaven.

Purgatory makes sense and is a great Blessing.

CHRIST is the means. CHRIST and the Church are one. We are participants.

GOD Bless us all.
