Are We Living in the Last Days?

Do you read any of the news? The Gaza Strip has been taken over by Hamas, the militant Islam group. The president of Iran has vowed to wipe out Jews and Christians and talks about the return of the Mahdi, the second coming of their prophet. If you read Matthew 24 where Jesus talks about the signs of the last days, many things have been fulfilled or are being fulfilled. Perhaps you believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church, or not? What does it matter but that we are ready like the wise virgins in the parable of the foolish and wise virgins? We must ask ourselves "What am I doing today that will have eternal value and make me a useful vessel for my Master, Jesus Christ?" Perhaps you are like I once was, many times 'caught up with the cares of this world'. Then one day I prayed 'do whatever it takes, Lord, to make me on fire for you again.' The Lord was faithful to answer my prayer in a way I never expected. My prayer is that I have challenged you to wake up and seek God's perfect will, or maybe even to be bold enough to pray the Lord will do 'whatever it takes' in your life to make you on fire for Jesus!

A better way of putting it:

A better question is "are we in the last of the last days" or even better, "will we see Revelation come to pass in this generation?"

Of course we can say "we are closer than ever!" because that is the nature of time, moving forward.

I have a good sermon series by Allen Hood on "How you can know you are in the last days" where he asks the questions, "Can you know? Should you know? How do you know?" Very good stuff. If anyone wants it, email me, undercoverdave-at-gmail.com

Jesus, Paul, John, Daniel, and many other scriptures (over 100 chapters of the Bible are eschatological) give clues and indicators of what the end will be like.

Study it out yourself, start thinking about it. We are called by Paul to "not be ignorant" on the subject.

Also, the end is a good thing, for all of you who may be dreading tribulation, etc. It's going to be GREAT AND TERRIBLE. Great for those who endure, terrible for those who don't.

I personally think we are very close, but still in the beginning of "birth pangs."
