Are We Living in the Last Days?

Do you read any of the news? The Gaza Strip has been taken over by Hamas, the militant Islam group. The president of Iran has vowed to wipe out Jews and Christians and talks about the return of the Mahdi, the second coming of their prophet. If you read Matthew 24 where Jesus talks about the signs of the last days, many things have been fulfilled or are being fulfilled. Perhaps you believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church, or not? What does it matter but that we are ready like the wise virgins in the parable of the foolish and wise virgins? We must ask ourselves "What am I doing today that will have eternal value and make me a useful vessel for my Master, Jesus Christ?" Perhaps you are like I once was, many times 'caught up with the cares of this world'. Then one day I prayed 'do whatever it takes, Lord, to make me on fire for you again.' The Lord was faithful to answer my prayer in a way I never expected. My prayer is that I have challenged you to wake up and seek God's perfect will, or maybe even to be bold enough to pray the Lord will do 'whatever it takes' in your life to make you on fire for Jesus!

What does the Bible say?

Okay, here it is, God's Word to us, as Christians; what is God's will for us today?

------------- "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power f His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, {Jesus said He is the truth}, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; {we are 'the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus' as born again believers whose sins are forgiven}, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel {the good news that Jesus died for our sins on the cross and rose from the dead} of peace;{true mark of knowing the Lord is having the 'peace that passes all understanding.' Philippians}; above all, taking the shield of faith, {complete trust in Christ} wherewith you shall be able to quench ALL the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, AND THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD; PRAYING ALWAYS with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and WATCHING THEREUNTO WITH ALL PERSEVERANCE AND SUPPLICATION FOR ALL SAINTS;" Ephesians 6:10-18 ----

(comments in the {} are mine, and this is quoted in context from the King James, just with 'ye' changed to 'you'). My prayer is that the Lord will use me in writing blogs to bring Him glory and challenge Christians to follow Jesus in total surrender, 'loving not their lives, even unto death.' :-)

I asked Jesus 'how much do you love me?' and He said, 'this much' and He stretched out His hands on the cross and died. Are you living totally surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ each day?
