The ravished fly up to Heaven

Hi Giovanni,

Welcome to the group.

I particularly like the conclusion of your post: Then, as this chapter relates; ”if they should happen to die, they should straight fly up to Heaven...and that privilege should they have by the merit of Christ’s Passion”.

This indicates to me that if we remain pure after baptism and commit no sins, then we are always ready to ascend to heaven directly.

This chapter seems to relate to chapter 8 in book 1, part 1, where Hilton says the contemplator may become ravished by the love of God and caught up to the Third Heaven.

Thank you for your insight.
