In this Chapter of Nehemiah we will read about all of those who by Faith chose to follow all of what The Torah Teaches. The Laws, that were neglected and they gave their pledge to walk in them and uphold all of them. The Spirit of Repentance(Teshuvah) follows with the resolve of Nehemiah The Governor, Zedekiah and The People, to Change their old ways of neglect, and Renew their Spiritual Connection to The Holy Land.

First there is a list of 83 signatories of The Covenant of Faith(The Bris Amanah) with a seal. The Temple tax is established as one-third shekel because of the economy, down from Exodus 20:13-14 of one-half shekel, which was the same later is in New Testament Times.

It brings up The Oath, Intermarriage and The Sabbath. The Mitzvos, The Wood Offerings, The Firstborn, The First of Your Dough(Challah) and The First Fruits(Terumah) and Tithing.

RE: Isolation

Brother Collin,

As far as Nehemiah is concerned, Scripture teaches that The Seed of Isaac served a special purpose in G-d's Economy to bring The Light of G-d unto The Nations(Gentiles) and to help keep The Land of Israel a Holy Land.

The Faith of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is also a walk of Faith in G-d, as well as our Walk with G-d is, even today in Christianity.

Today that principle of The Mitzvos still remains true for The Jews.

However today this principle is also applied to The Christian Faith as well. We are not keeping Israel Holy if we live outside of The Land of Israel. But there is a common thread which spans the course of time and brings to bear G-d's Perfect Will in our lives as Christians. If we would marry outside of our Faith, we would tend to fall away because of the limited ability to always have clear vision when our heart is drawing us one way and The Word of G-d is pointing in another direction.

My understanding is if you are married and come to understand Jesus as your Savior and you wife is not a believer, then your Salvation blesses the marriage and G-d will work out The Salvation of your wife in His timing.
