Nehemiah Chapter 10, Records The Covenant of Faith and Those Who Committed to Follow The Torah

In this Chapter of Nehemiah we will read about all of those who by Faith chose to follow all of what The Torah Teaches. The Laws, that were neglected and they gave their pledge to walk in them and uphold all of them. The Spirit of Repentance(Teshuvah) follows with the resolve of Nehemiah The Governor, Zedekiah and The People, to Change their old ways of neglect, and Renew their Spiritual Connection to The Holy Land.

First there is a list of 83 signatories of The Covenant of Faith(The Bris Amanah) with a seal. The Temple tax is established as one-third shekel because of the economy, down from Exodus 20:13-14 of one-half shekel, which was the same later is in New Testament Times.

It brings up The Oath, Intermarriage and The Sabbath. The Mitzvos, The Wood Offerings, The Firstborn, The First of Your Dough(Challah) and The First Fruits(Terumah) and Tithing.

Nehemiah 10:2, Some Of Those Who Signed The Text

We are now going to go through this list of those who signed their names who were The Leadership of Israel(The SanHedrin). This would be The Supreme Judicial and Legislative Body within The Land. There are 70 Members which belong to The SanHedrin. Of the total of 83 in Leadership who signed The Document there are also 13 Administrative Appointees to The Temple.

The Temple Administrative appointees consists of The Assistant Kohen Gadol, his two aids, seven Caretakers and three Treasurers. from Jewish Scholar, Rambam on Klei HaMikdash,4:16-18

What I will do with this List of The Leadership, is give some information that I find on The Hebrew Names, after we read the verse. I have done before with other lists of Hebrew Names. I have also added the actual Transliterated Hebrew Number from Strong's Expanded, Exhaustive Concordance from Bible Explorer 4.

So lets look at the next verse, 2, of The Hebrew Names from The King James Bible.

The first name is Seraiah, from Strong's #8304, שְׂרָיָ֥ה, Srayah, ser·aw·yah, Serayah or Serayahu, originates from sarah(H8280) and Yah(H3050), Or Srayahuw {ser-aw-yaw'-hoo}; from sarah and Yahh; Yah persists, Jah has prevailed; Serajah, the name of nine Israelites, Seraiah.

The second name is Azariah, from Strong' #5838, עֲזַרְיָה, Azaryah, Az-ar-yaw' or Azaryahuw, Az-ar-yaw, originates from azar Strong's #5826,and Yah, from Strong's #3050,
Or mazaryahuw {az-ar-yaw'-hoo}; from azar and Yahh; Jah has helped; Azarjah, the name of nineteen Israelites, Azariah.

The third Name is Jeremiah, from Strong's #3414, יִרְמְיָה, Yirmeyah, Yir-meh-yaw' or Yirmeyahu, Yir-meh-yaw-hoo, yir-meh-yaw', Jeremiah, from Strong's #7311, ruwm, and Strong's 3450, Yahh, Jah will rise; Jirmejah, the name of eight or nine Israelites, Jeremiah.
