The Ascension

Yesterday (or last Thursday), Liturgical Churches celebrated the Ascension; i.e., the point when 40 days after the Ressurection, Jesus ascended bodily into heaven. What do y'all think are the implications for that? Do you think of Jesus as still having His ressurected body? Do you think we'll have bodies in heaven?

Jesus in a cloud
Allow me to dispel any speculations on Christ having a body still rotting on this earth with this scripture:
"And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight." Acts 1:9
Read the whole chapter to find out what he said. I do not believe in the "Teachings of the Church." Always and forever will my beliefs derive directly from the Word of God. If a church official says something that I agree or disagree with, I look to the Word to find where I stand. I don't disagree with everything "the Church" has ever done or said, but I simply find my place by looking to the Word. Period. If the Bible says that He was recieved by a cloud, then it was so. I do, however, understand that the parables and "myths" of the Old Testament might have been simply stories to explain to believers the concept of the beginning of humanity and the power of faith in God.
Yeah, that's all I'm gonna say.
