The Ascension

Yesterday (or last Thursday), Liturgical Churches celebrated the Ascension; i.e., the point when 40 days after the Ressurection, Jesus ascended bodily into heaven. What do y'all think are the implications for that? Do you think of Jesus as still having His ressurected body? Do you think we'll have bodies in heaven?

Followup

I don't disagree with any of the postings made since my initial post. I feel jwmcmac's comments hit the "nail on the head" as far as what a glorified body would be like, & etc.

On the other hand, some vehemently disagree (I have met such before) with our speculations, and don't believe that we are resurrected to a "celestial" or "Glorified" body. Here are the add-ons of such teachings (some explicitly teach this, others quietly assert it):
- They claim that those who were cremated are not saved (What of the Christian martyrs who burned in Nazi concentration camps, then?!)
- They claim that organ donors are not saved (b/c they 'destroy' the flesh)

By examining what is claimed by the "same flesh resurrection" group, it is clear to see that they are indeed bizarre. They have no respect for Christian martyrs whose bodies were completely destroyed. Also, such a religiousity is contrary to the goals of modern medicine, where there are many people on the "waiting list" for a new organ; let alone the vast research that has been accomplished due to the donation of bodies to the morgues / and solving of murders due to autopsies.

Grace be with all-
