Don't formulate doctrine based on verses in isolation
I have read through the references to Jesus Christ in Ephesians and am not sure which verse you refer to, but none of them speak to a specific power that I would feel confident building a doctrinal idea around without first comparing that idea to all the other verses of scripture, as one could come up with something that is not consistent with the rest of God's word, by misunderstanding the intent of that one verse from Ephesians.
For instance one might guess that you are refering to the following:
Eph 1:5 Who hath predestinated us unto the adoption of children through Jesus Christ unto himself: according to the purpose of his will:
...and be looking to conclude (based on this one verse) that Jesus power is to predestine us in such a way that we could not resist that power. I believe that contradict far to much of scripture to accept such a doctrine based on this one verse. Maybe it is an entirely different verse you have in mind, but then others may have problems with taking it in isolation.
So either way maybe it is simpler if you just show us which verse you are thinking of and what you think it means and any supporting verses to go along with it along with their interpretations and then be ready to offer an alternative interpretation to any verse someone on this nice forum brings up that they feel is relevant and suggests a different doctrinal view point.
