When We Covenant Together with G-d, from verse 2

Arnet and Class,

When we Covenant with G-d or with our fellow man it always involves us changing and being brought into conformation with G-d's Ways of living and us not doing things according to our own will. It is always to be according to G-d's Will and purpose of living and the directions are all written down in Torah for us to follow.

It is always putting G-d first in everything that life contains. Second we must love our neighbor just as we also love ourself.

When G-d Covenants with man, He gives us personal direction and purpose for the Way we are to live, as we do things G-d's Way. We will grow in love for Him and in love of our fellow man, our neighbor.

In the case of verse 2 the Covenant was with each other who had sinned against G-d and taken foreign women to wife and have a family with. They wanted to do change and do it G-d's Way. So it was done through a Covenant of Agreement with each other and G-d, they put away their foreign wives and children and chose to serve G-d from that point on in their lives with each other, The People of Judah and G-d.

With a new direction, they were able to achieve Spiritual Restoration back unto G-d's People and Redemption, with the turning back unto G-d's Ways in their life.

And yes Spiritual and physical Redemption are also provided with G-d's Escape Goat, Yeshua(Jesus).

Faith is "G-d Given". Nothing is done without Faith being applied by G-d to every person's life and it is a Central Key to How G-d Works in all of us, with both The Jew and The Gentile.
