Eara 10:9-10, Ezra Now is Speaking as Priest

As we read from the next two verses of Ezra 10, we find that the assembly in Jerusalem is now gathering. The time of year, is the 9th month, and the 12th day of the month, that would be the month, Kislev, which is be very late in November. This year it will fall on the 29 of November.

Lets return to our story. It's a very Late Fall day and The Mediterranean Climate is bringing a heavy Winter rain to the gathering in Jerusalem, which is located in The Central Mountains of Israel.

What is happening is the higher elevation of The Central Mountains are 820 feet near Jerusalem. They are holding a weather front from moving and all the water is being dumped in and around Jerusalem and creating a rain shadow for the Jordan Valley, The rain storm will pass past after most of the water is removed from it.

So All The Men were trembling because of two things, a cold rain and a fear of G-d. They were All together in the open square before the House of G-d. Cold and shaking as they sat in the heavy rain. They were sure that something important was about to transpire and it would be coming from Ezra, The Priest

Lets read the next two verses of Ezra 10,

V9 So all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered at Jerusalem within three days. It [was] the ninth month, on the twentieth of the month; and all the people sat in the open square of the House of G-d, trembling because of [this] matter and because of heavy rain.
V10 Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, "You have transgressed and have taken pagan wives, adding to the guilt of Israel.

The cat was out of the bag, so to speak. Ezra just said two very important things regarding The Remnant of Israel, Judah and Benjamen. That Transgression was committed and pagan wives were taken, which added to The Guilt of Israel.
