Ezra 4:17-18 The New King Artaxerxes Replys

As we read the next two verses from our text we will see that now The New Persian King Artaxerxes reply has been sent to the Elamites and Reum, The Commander and his Scribe, Shimahai.

Lets go through some Old History now to discover what is being done. It takes a lot of looking by the New King Artaxerxes to find the correct papers concerning the time of The Destruction of Jerusalem by The Assyrian Army, That is many years before Cyrus was King of Persia, back to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and then some more time to The Assyrian King Ashurbanipal's reign, from 669-627 BC.

So lets read some more of Ezra:

V17 The king sent an answer: To Rehum the commander, [to] Shimshai the scribe, [to] the rest of their companions who dwell in Samaria, and [to] the remainder beyond the River: Peace, and so forth. V18 The letter which you sent to us has been clearly read before me.

Now we know that all the research has bee completed on the Jewish People who were removed from Jerusalem and Judah. That Cyrus sent them home to build a House for G-d in Jerusalem's for him, The King of Persia. The New King of Persia, Artaxerxes, now knows all of the story which was filed by The Assyrian King Ashurbanipal.
