For Catholics the answer is Purgatory.

What is the answer for Protestants?

1 Corinthians 3:15
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

You are saying the same as

You are saying the same as me . . . but your em-pha'-sis is on the other sy-la'-ble . . .

. . . so . . . you are closer . . . and you are still very Catholic in your thinking . . . not perfect . . . but better than many Catholics . . .

Our Catholic way requires . . . a proper amount of 'Fear and Trembling' . . . like Paul and like Mother Theresa . . . because of the part we play in this Life and Death Reality.

We really do have a very important part in this . . . but only because of what CHRIST did at Calvary.

Mary, John and the Ladies at the Cross . . . did too fully participate . . . to the degree that it was possible for them to participate . . . and so do we.

As to who is 'right' or who is 'wrong' . . .

. . . I'll go with the Church which CHRIST commissioned and sent into the whole and entire world . . . rather than going with my own understanding . . . or yours (sorry - no evil intent there) . . . as to all these things concerning Salvation.

If She steers me wrong . . . it's bad.

If I steer myself wrong on these points . . . it's worse.

I am confident only in HIS Mercy . . . which is why I go to Confession . . . and is why I don't think I have arrived in Heaven already.

GOD Bless us all.

. . . some humor . . .

. . . I'll be Ba'ch . . .

. . . you can be Bee'thoven . . .

orwh' . . . my name is not Ah'nald Schwartzeneggah . . .
