What is Sin?

I've heard so many competing definitions, and I'd really like to have a solid answer--what is sin?

Can Christians live above it?
Are Christians forgiven when they do it?
Do Christians lose salvation when they commit it?

If you've a good answer, please share it.

"28For we account a man to be justified by faith, without the works of the law."

jwmcmac comments:

The works of law to which this refers is the Old Testament Law and Prophets . . . which no man could do to accomplish . . . except CHRIST . . . and so HE did do.

Without having Faith and Grace in CHRIST first in our Heart, we cannot do any good thing . . . but doing the good things are necessary.

But Works of Love are founded on Faith Acting through and in Love . . . 'Justice and Peace have Kissed' . . . and these Actions of Faith practiced in Love . . . these fulfill all that the old Law pointed to, Spiritually . . . which actions of Faith in Love are made manifest . . . Obedience, Submission of Will . . . leading to a Virtuous Life based on Faith Acting in Love . . .

. . . as 'Steps to CHRIST' said . . . "—faith that works by love and purifies the soul. Through this faith the heart is renewed in the image of God."

Did you just come over a bit?

Thanks, if so.

I'm already where you are at, I think, but I don't stop there.

Lead on.

GOD Bless us all.
