What is Sin?

I've heard so many competing definitions, and I'd really like to have a solid answer--what is sin?

Can Christians live above it?
Are Christians forgiven when they do it?
Do Christians lose salvation when they commit it?

If you've a good answer, please share it.

Answer to #1 -- We have Saints in the Church . . . so somewhere along the way they were able to live like Saints, by the Grace of GOD given through HIS Church.

Answer to #2 -- Yes, if they ask with True Faith and Contrition . . . and at least the desire to turn from their sins.

Answer to #3 -- At that moment, yes . . . if it was a sin of Grave Matter and was committed with 'will' and 'knowledge' . . . but if GOD Allows . . . they may have time to repent, if they again ask.

We are constantly being Fed by the Holy Word and the Eucharistic Bread WHO is CHRIST.

We are constantly being washed in the Water and the Blood.

We need to take baths and eat our entire life in this world . . . and we Hope to be found Robed in the LORD at our death . . . with no un-repented sins on our conscience.

We Trust and Believe and also Tremble.

But we Hope, confidently, in HIM while fearing our own sins and weaknesses . . . overcoming these by HIS Grace and most of all . . . overcoming these by HIS Mercy.

. . . but we do have to ask, Believe and turn back to HIM . . . each time we fall . . . doing this until the day we die . . . if we expect to 'win the race' . . . to the finish line.

GOD Bless us all.
