In the Order of Worship/Service, what is essential?

I thought I'd throw this thought out into the light of day. In our various church backgrounds, what do you consider as essential in your Order of Worship and what parts are secondary (indifferent) or to say, may help and not harm a Worship Service?
What is the main reason you attend church?

As a very lonely Christian...
the idea of God being approachable was alien to me. After some "go my own way years" I today very much appreciate the community we have with other believers. We are in this boat together, even if a person wants to sit by themself. (As I did for so many years) Typical self-reliant American male!
