I have my doubts about how much Rome is implicated in Revelation, despite what the historians and archeologists may say. Actually, I myself have pointed out some things said by church fathers that refer to Rome.
You do use the word "primarily," so I understand that you are saying that Revelation could be about the future to some degree or another. Maybe so?
What can be accepted as truth isn't different from what was taught to the early church in the apostolic tradition.
