My side of things:
The potential for 'evil' to overcome the Saints has never been greater than with the results of this last election.
All the rejoicing over Obama, a great event in history of itself, comes up rather troublingly short in virtue . . . due to . . . the 'right' . . . to 'choose' . . . choose 'what?' . . . the right to 'choose to end' our children's Lives in their Mothers wombs . . . and more and more . . . marriage and family takes a back seat to the 'rights' of 'partners' to have 'same sex unions'.
According to Scripture and according to GOD through HIS Church, Marriage is 'only' and 'necessarily' between a man and a woman, living a Life of Sacrifice for one another and for their children. The parts don't fit otherwise.
No other form of 'Marriage' preserves the Society of mankind. Anything less than GOD's plan for Marriage leads to the death of Society.
All other 'forms' of Marriage destroy life in selfishness and exclusiveness and self-centered-ness.
Apparently, we don't Believe that GOD's allowing of that sperm to fertilize the egg in the Mother's womb has anything to do with Life anymore. We do not believe that GOD has the 'right' to have brought that sperm and egg together and breathed HIS Life into that union.
And we certainly don't believe that we are 'obligated' to 'accept' the consequences of our actions in regards to this 'union' and 'Life' which GOD started in the Mother's Womb . . . after all, this is a Life-changing event . . . which we do not 'want' . . . and which we outrightly 'reject'. Right?
GOD can't tell us what to do anymore . . . right?
Life is now our decision.
We don't accept GOD's world and our Nature as GOD made us.
We don't accept 'Life' on GOD's terms.
We 'decide'.
We have put ourselves in the 'place' of GOD in the temple of Life.
In some manner and on some level . . . all of us are guilty of this . . . perhaps some being more-so than others.

BTW -- Contraception is just as bad . . . or almost just as bad . . . as abortion . . . both of these being 'evils' in themselves.
I can't prove this to anyone who is not already disposed in Faith to 'accept' things as GOD made them.

However, many Catholics believe there will be a 'Triumph of the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of JESUS and of Mary in the Church and in the world and in the Hearts of all mankind . . . we are just not sure how or when or after what . . . this Triumph will be accomplished. But we do have ideas . . . none of which do not include the Church as being renewed in Her Splendor and none of which do not include the Eucharistic CHRIST as being the in the primary place in this accomplishment of this Triumph.
At any rate, when it appears that all is lost and that evil has triumphed, satan's prey . . . us . . . will be snatched from his grasp . . . and a time of Peace will be granted to the world.
The Church will return to being more simple, stripped of some of Her perhaps 'false' grandeur . . . She being made more Faithful, more simple, more beautiful, more in Love with and Adoring of the Eucharistic JESUS and more devoted to Mary our Mother the Church.
Some carry these private prophecies of the Church to the extreme, leaving out the Pope and such, and seeing evil under every nook and cranny.
Don't do that.
Just be a good Christian in Love with CHRIST.
Love GOD. Love your neighbor. Trust in HIS Providence, even if we are not raptured . . . rapture being a 'construct' which may not actually happen -- the Saints always going through the troubles . . . yet, somehow being preserved -- but sometimes being martyred.
And don't badmouth Mary or the Church. And hang onto your Faith . . . cause it's going to get tough to keep our Faith in the face of things to come.
