THE CLOUD OF UNKNOWING - CHAPTER 31

l.craddock's picture

if it so be that thy foredone special deeds will always press in thy remembrance betwixt thee and thy God, or any new thought or stirring of any sin either, thou shalt stalwartly step above them with a fervent stirring of love, and tread them down under thy feet.

I understand...

Thank you, Robert. I guess the important point is in the 'letting go' and letting God do.

You are right about strict Catholic teachings, especially during Vatican I years, of dealing with guilt for sins committed. Probably why I feel that need of expressing sorrow.

I, too, believe in His Mercy and forgiveness without necessarily going to a priest for confession... but I do feel the necessity of going through the sorrow for the sins before I can come into union with Him.

I may have a really long road ahead... blessings to all here and thank you again.
