The Revelation of Jesus Christ (Chapter 1)

JStaller's picture

Alright. Here we go--the first chapter of Revelation. Highly charged imagery, dense Jewish symbolism, intense cultural and religious pressure, and a rich history of literature collide, producing (in my opinion) the greatest spiritual vision in the Christian experience. If you can enter into this vision, you will see Christ.

Brother Michael

Brother Michael was a good scholar and knew his Catechism well. The intepretations he presented were firmly rooted and grounded in the writing and understandings of the Catholic fathers.

But he is also a practicing Catholic apologist and it was his objective to reconcile the dogma of the early militant church with the more tolerant modern feminine church perspective which attempts to embrace all faiths. This caused him to twist and stretch things in order to fit them with others to the point of tearing the fabric of the Catholic faith. But a good apologist can quickly apply an old patch to new cloth and make all things appear well.
