Alright. Here we go--the first chapter of Revelation. Highly charged imagery, dense Jewish symbolism, intense cultural and religious pressure, and a rich history of literature collide, producing (in my opinion) the greatest spiritual vision in the Christian experience. If you can enter into this vision, you will see Christ.

Gabriel???
I have heard it taught that this messenger is the same messenger who went to Gideon, and to Mary the mother of Jesus, Gabriel the angel.
Not sure if there is specific reference to him in the text later. But one thing I love, is that John sees and feels the Glory of the Lord so strong with this angel, that he bows down to worship, and the angel corrects him straight away that he is a servant as well, not to worship him, only the Lord! It would behoove all of us to take this advice, when we are apt to place "worship" before those we believe are so mighty in the things of God! For it is God who is mighty, not the messenger!!!
