Writing Book Descriptions or Book Introductions

Most of the author biographies are written, but feel free to write a short biography for any authors who are missing biographies (as we add new authors/books, we'll need new biographies written, but basically this task has been completed). We are now working on writing short (one paragraph) book descriptions for all of the books in the CCEL. To get an idea of what we are trying to accomplish, I've posted (below) a completed book description for The Imitation of Christ. The completed description: "For five hundred years, this gentle book, filled with the spirit of the love of God, has brought understanding and comfort to millions of readers in over fifty languages, and provided them with a source of heart-felt personal prayer. These meditations on the life and teachings of Jesus, written in times even more troubled and dangerous than our own, have become second only to the Bible as a guide and inspiration. It is now available in a MODERN TRANSLATION that retains the flavor of the original English translation." These book descriptions can be written by volunteers, or volunteers can locate them by searching the Internet, look at the dust jackets of books, etc. We need to give credit for book descriptions that are ‘found’ so please provide a brief citation. If you write or find a book description, please email it to me (ktv5@calvin.edu), and I’ll post it on our Web site. For help and discussion about this project, please visit our Book Description Volunteer Forum. We'd love to have your help! Thanks!
