You can already use <emph> and <strong>. The problem with allowing editors to use full HTML is that it makes possible various cross-site scripting vulnerabilities. For example, a devious eidtor -- or robot from russia--could put in links and javascript that might automatically exploit a weakness in your browser and install adware on your system, or some such.

Yes, we could theoretically give editors full HTML permission, but I'm not sure it would be wise from a security perspective.

Certainly, we can give *particular* editors that we trust full HTML permission. If you want to be one such person, please contact Ken VerHulst.
