Practical Mysticism - CHAPTER VI - LOVE AND WILL

"Only the real, say the mystics, can know Reality, for “we behold that which we are,” the universe which we see is conditioned by the character of the mind that sees it: and this realness—since that which you seek is no mere glimpse of Eternal Life, but complete possession of it—must apply to every aspect of your being, the rich totality of character, all the “forces of the soul,” not to some thin and isolated “spiritual sense” alone."

fundamental church

My best friend attends a fundamental church and I love and respect her views and her faith. She is person that when she walks in the room, people seem to know she is a person of faith without ever being told. She is very quiet and shy and never says a word, but her faith shines through and effects the people that she is around. Her faith has helped me tremendously. Still I have been led in another direction and contemplation definitely lies outside the box. It makes many people uncomfortable. If someone is comfortable and happy then I don't think it's time for them to venture outside the box. We are all children and need to hold on to that which gives us a feeling of security. For me I have found my security in my contemplative life. To feel God through others and nature.
For you to sit and feel the bond you share with your church family means to me that you have extended your heart around them and are able to love more like Christ. What a beautiful thing.
