highlighted verse discrepancy

Sometimes, the browser jumps to display the highlighted verse, even when it is far down the passage. Sometimes, I have to scroll down to find the highlighted verse.

Examples:

Using Firefox 2.0.0.13, today's verse (from Spurgeon's Morning and Evening) produced this URL:

http://www.ccel.org/ccel/bible/kjv.Eph.3.html?scrBook=Eph&scrCh=3-3&scrV=19-19#highlight

My browser did not open the text at the highlighted verse; I had to scroll down to see it.

Two days earlier, a verse much deeper into the text produced:

http://www.ccel.org/ccel/bible/kjv.Mark.8.html?scrBook=Mark&scrCh=8-8&scrV=38-38#highlight

My browser displayed the end of the chapter and revealed the highlighted verse upon clicking the link.

This is only a minor annoyance in a great interface, but I can find no differences in the URL encoding for pages that "work" and pages that don't. And the behavior is consistent: a page that works always works, and one that doesn't, doesn't.

One hint was observed when using Internet Explorer. The Back Button needed to be clicked twice when the browser jumped to a deep verse, in order to return to the source page containing the original link. (The first back click returned to verse 1 of the selected chapter.) In Firefox, only one click of the Back Button is ever needed to return to the source page.

As if you didn't have a lot of important things to do . . . . :)

Thanks,
Bill
