Let's look at verse 1-7 as a whole

We’ve looked at and considered what Jude said, verse by verse. Lots of good thoughts and resources about what the “not so clear” passages mean. Thank You all for your inputs.
Now lets review the 7 verses as a whole and see if the message has impact on our faith today.
Jude writes this letter to Christians and prays for God’s goodness to be multiplied in our lives. While Jude had a different design in mind in writing originally, he changed his mind and wrote about the apostasy that was sneaking into the church. Apostasy that came in unnoticed needed to be dealt with, the sooner the better.
If it wasn’t dealt with they were to going to apostatize and die. To prove it we see how God judged the Hebrews in V5, an heavenly crew in V6 and a heathen nation in V7. They all seemed to have a common denominator. And that is sexual perversion.
Jude is setting the stage, God has judged and will judge again if we don’t repent.

Was Jude “aiming his guns” at Christians/us for being slack, or giving them the heads up for the creeps that were headed their way?

Jude insinuates that the Christian audience was lazy in their studies V3, were sleepy V4, and were backslidden V5. The apostates were going to be them if they didn’t straighten up.!

I’m glad the church today is waking up. Things are happening at a very fast pace today and I’m glad that ‘In the last days, God said, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.” (Acts 2:17). Be filled with Word and His Spirit today, and tomorrow and the next day so that you will be equipped. Equipped to teach your kids and your grandkids what they need to know to live a godly life in Christ Jesus.

Are you ready to die for Him while contending earnestly for the Faith?
The early apostles were and look at the signs and wonders that followed them. Do you need a miracle in your life today?
I do!

What do you think?
