I’m happy you enjoyed your visit to the KH.

So, you would have enjoyed it more if we had “lots of food”? :-) Sorry, we have just the unleavened bread and wine commanded by Jesus, for those who decide to partake. Of course, there is the promise of more later. (Ps 72:16)

As you noticed, the celebration that Jesus instituted with his disciples was different from the Passover. Remember, they had just had their Passover, which Jesus had to do that last time, in order that the Scriptures may be fulfilled. (Mark 14:49; John 10:37,38)
He used the unleavened bread to symbolize his body, and the plain wine- a later addition to the Passover meal- to symbolize his blood. Now there existed a contract- a covenant- between Jesus on the one hand and his adoptive brothers on the other. Later there would be more brothers added, to make up the new government that Jehovah purposed after Adam refused to carry out his part in Jehovah’s arrangement for the earth.

An analogy that helps me to understand it is to a part of the American government system. The President will have a cabinet of people qualified to oversee particular aspects of the country. One will be Secretary of Education, another is Secretary of Labor, and so on. The cabinet members are not elected, but chosen personally by the President because he knows they are competent. (1 Tim 3:6,10; Heb 4:15; Jas 2:3) Similarly with Jesus and Jehovah, except that these chosen ones are “born again” as sons of God, therefore as siblings of Jesus. And they are adopted children, as Paul said, by action of holy spirit. (Rom 8, esp. v. 12-17; Gal 4:5) Under both Roman and Jewish law, adopted sons had the same status as natural sons.
Later, in Revelation, we see these ones, bought … for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation … and they are to rule as kings over the earth. (Rev 5:9,10)

So, if these are to rule as kings, who would be their subjects? And what sort of earth would it be, do you think?
