To what extent do we as humans have free will and to what extent has God predestined our lives?
Matthew 7:21 reads "Not every one who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Why does this matter? Well, if only those who do the will of the Father enter the kingdom of heaven, and everything that happens on Earth is God's will, then everyone one Earth is doing God's will and thus shall enter the kingdom of heaven.
But we know this is not the case. Therefore, it is possible for humans to act outside the will of God. Jesus himself prayed that God's will, not his (human will), be done.
So he got up and went back to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him. ~ Luke 15:20
