CCEL and Manton
The 'alternative rendering' is linked to a site outside of CCEL (http://www.newblehome.co.uk/manton/vol04/vol04ch1-01.html). I don't know anything about this site except that it's not even located in the United States.
We do have works by Manton in our library. One word about the use of NIV. The books at CCEL automatically reference (link to) Bible verses according the member's preferred version of the Bible. That is, our Manton books could be linked to the NRVS or King James (although NOT the NIV as this is copyrighted and we don't use it).
