Comments on Foxe's Book of Martyrs

Regardless of possible exagerations by Foxe, the martyrdom of Christians by Imperial and Catholic Rome is a historical fact. Yet far worse than this is the deception perpetrated on generations of Catholics to this day who will be judged based on a non-existent purgatory and the blasphemy of the Catholic Eucharist which is the justificaton they have for salvation, both false. She has denied many the salvation of the Lord Jesus by polluting His gospel with doctrines of demons.

(1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.)

Revelation 17:6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

Revelation 17:9 "Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. (The city of the Seven Hills, which is Rome, the house of the Catholic Church.)

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 6 Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. 7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow. 8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day-death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.
