It's spring... well, almost!

Here's a peek at our schedule of Psalm study for the weeks ahead!

As you volunteer I will edit this post accordingly. You can volunteer for 1 week, or 2 weeks in sequence depending on whether your chosen Psalm is short or long, or if you are leading 2 or 3 sequential Psalms.

For your information, here are the Psalms we've already covered, or have on the schedule:

1, 9, 10, 15, 16, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 42, 43, 46, 50, 51, 71, 91, 100, 111, 119, 121, 122, 137, 139, 144

You may not choose to repeat one of the above Psalms, unless it is listed as "volunteer needed". All others are still options!

If a Psalm is scheduled for only 1 week, you may volunteer to do a week 2 immediately following week 1 if the schedule is still open for that.

New thoughts

When I discovered the things I laid out for y'all, I had a 'niggling' thought in the back of my brain. It really doesn't need a whole lot of attention, but it was there until I resolved the 'thing'.

If the Bible was rewritten during the Babylonian Exile (and it was) wouldn't that tend to invalidate the Scriptures? After putting in some time Talking (Praying) to Him and the Holy Spirit, I was given this reassurance.

The answer is 'No!' When Jesus was growing up, the Torah/Tanach used was the edited version! The same with the Twelve , Paul, Phillip who Baptized the Ethiopian Eunuch, and all the rest of the growing crowd of Christians, both Jew and Gentile. All either preached or was taught from that version. So I guess my 'niggle' was for naught, huh? ;-)

I've been reading a book titled 'Adventures in Missing the Point' by Brian D Mclaren and Tony Campolo. The subtitle is 'How the Culture-Controlled Church Neutered the Gospel'. Scary stuff when you see how much has been softened or done away with just to satisfy man's thought about who he is and who God is. I'll share stuff further down the line if you want. It raises real concerns about our Spiritual Health.
