Study on Genesis
Genesis Study NOTE: If you have any questions, thoughts or interest in the Genesis study, please contact Dan Fugett, Sr Moderator, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Welcome to the study group for the book of Genesis. Have you ever asked yourself: Where did I come from? Why am I here? Why do I exist? What is my purpose in life? Where am I going? An in depth look at Genesis will go a long way toward answering these and some other questions. Hi! My name is Thomas Groeneman and I am the group leader for this study. We will be thoroughly investigating this foundational Bible book together for the next year. I want to personally encourage everyone to participate in the discussion as that is how best an interdenominational study of this nature works. Regardless of your level of education, knowledge and expertise all are welcome to contribute. We can learn a great deal from each other as we explore God's revelation in Genesis.
A few words to those who may be new to CCEL are in order. The forum posting policy is clearly spelled out under that heading. Let me summarize my philosophy for interaction in this venue by quoting Colossians 3: 12-15 “ 12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.”
Insults, bullying, intimidation and personal remarks will not be tolerated. Debate and criticism are allowed if they are constructive. I think we all know how to conduct ourselves in a mature and edifying manner.
I will be initiating threads as we go along but to begin with there will be sections for introductions and some background information to Genesis. In the introductions thread it will be most helpful to me if you include your Church affiliation and history as well as your understanding of the Creation account and the book of Genesis as a whole. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
All inquiries, questions about the material, complaints or criticisms regarding the process and progress of the study are most welcome. Just remember to try and stay on topic, respect the opinions of others and that the only stupid question is the one not asked. I am here to serve you and to make this the best possible experience for all.
Your brother in Christ,
