In This Issue: From the DirectorThe call to discipleship is a call to follow Jesus. "To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps" (1 Pet. 2:21). What would happen to the church, to the world, if Christians seriously tried to follow in Christ's steps, to follow his example? This is the subject of Charles Sheldon's novel, In His Steps, and this book is the source of the saying "What would Jesus do?" It is an enjoyable book, a relatively light read, and it can make for some excellent discussions. In fact, it has changed many lives. A new on-line book study group is starting out on this book. Early Church Fathers DVD The CCEL is pleased to announce a new DVD of the Early Church Fathers and other books including the Apostolic Fathers in Greek, other works of the early church, and Thomas Aquinas' Summa Theologica. The DVD is searchable and indexed by scripture reference, so you can search for writings of the fathers or of Aquinas on particular scripture passages. The ECF series may be the most accurate electronic version available, as it is based on a common electronic version but it has all been proofed again by the CCEL. And page images are included, so you can refer to the print edition if there are any questions! This collection is also available for download without the page images.

Featured ClassicOn the Trinity by Augustine (354-430) Scripture [says] ... "I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever." He will not therefore depart when the Father and the Son come, but will be in the same abode with them eternally; because neither will He come without them, nor they without Him. But in order to intimate the Trinity, some things are separately affirmed, the Persons being also each severally named; and yet are not to be understood as though the other Persons were excluded, on account of the unity of the same Trinity and the One substance and Godhead of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
