Welcome to the

Greg Scheer Memorial Electronic Performance Contest

Why Greg Scheer Memorial?
Because, as we all know, composers are more deeply appreciated when they are dead. I'm not dead, but I'm hoping to stimulate some premature appreciation.
Electronic Performance?
It used to be that the composition and the performance of a piece were separate jobs for people that were trained in specialized skills. In modern electronic music, compostion and performance tend to be handled by one person. I'm more skilled in composition than I am the world of electronic music, so I'm hoping that some synth-meister(in) will see the merit in "Crossfade" and take it upon him/herself to give it a dazzling e-performance.
Contest?
Prize to be announced at a future date, but may include inclusion on a cassette or CD, live concert, and permission for future recordings and concerts.

Required Files:

crossfade.midi - Is the MIDI file waiting to be performed
crossfade_notes.txt - is a text file that lays out what instruments are on each track
crossfade.README - is for those accessing the contest via ftp
crossfade.mov - is a quicktime file of the piece. But frankly it sounds cheesy, so don't let it discourage you from downloading the MIDI file.
If you have questions about this contest or the piece, e-mail me at "GregSchee.aol.com"
