Maximus Planudes, a monk of Constantinople (A.D. 1327 - 1353) has translated Caesar's Commentaries, the Somnium Scipionis, the Metamorphoses and Heroides of Ovid, etc., (Fabric. Bib. Graec. tom. x. p. 533).
