Biography

Not only was Walter A. Elwell a student at Wheaton College in Illinois, but he also served as a New Testament professor and the school’s dean. Born in 1937, his teaching career spanned nearly three decades, he has also been a prolific author and editor. He has edited a survey of the Christian doctrines as well as various Bible dictionaries and commentaries. He has authored books on the New Testament. Elwell has spent his life sharing knowledge and insights with students and the broader religious community. He retired in 2003 yet remains professor emeritus for his alma mater.
