Biography

Benjamin Breckinridge (B.B.) Warfield had a distinguished career as a professor of theology and principal of Princeton Theological Seminary. At a time when people were questioning the “inspiration” of the Bible, Warfield was making the case for influence of the Holy Spirit on ALL scripture. Warfield tackled the topic of evolution. He believed one could be an evolutionist and a Christian. Warfield’s Calvin’s Doctrine of Creation was published in 1915. Warfield was known as a conservative when it came to church politics. He wrote several articles against the practice of segregation. Faith and Life, Biblical Doctrines, The Plan of Salvation, and Counterfeit Miracles are just some of the more than two dozen books published by Warfield. At the age of 69 Warfield died on February 16, 1921.
